My 2022 Powersheets

Back in September 2016 I watched a YouTube video of Lara Casey and Nicole Ayang talking about a planner that helps you with goals. I remember thinking oh wow this sounds amazing, how do I get one of those?

Back then I would write on an A4 piece of paper a list of things I wanted to do, be or have by the end of the year. I would then put the list away and I would take it out around Christmas day and see how much of it I had accomplished. The thing I always remembered thinking was “if only I had seen this list earlier in the year then I would have ticked off more of the important things sooner”. The problem was that I would lose the piece of paper and find it completely by accident around Christmas or later. I thought that there could be a better way to do this but didn’t know one at the time. That was, until I watched Lara Casey’s YouTube video.

I had never heard of Cultivate or even planners at this point. I didn’t know there was a whole planner community that talked about stickers and stationery and all my favourite things.

The more I watched the video the more enchanted I became. I went to the cultivate website and started reading everything I could about goal setting and planning and creating a legacy and something clicked. I fell in love with the idea of dreaming about the future then putting it to paper and bringing it to life. I also fell in love with the idea of the Cultivate philosophy: one step at a time. Cultivate have always been huge on implementing life dreams one tiny bit at a time and my heart loves this whole philosophy. Suddenly my life dreams not only became possible but an achievable thing.

I bought my first goal planner from Cultivate What Matters in November of 2016 and started filling it in way ahead of the game. I felt great after setting up some big goals and then put the book away until 1st of Jan 2017. It was kind of a rookie error because I didn’t go back to review my goals and my heart had changed over Christmas. Christmas and New Year energy can do that sometimes so remember you are human and your dreams and goals WILL change and evolve just as you do throughout the year.

Come January I looked at the Powersheets and felt hugely overwhelmed at how pretty the book was and the HUGE goals I had set myself. Some of them came from seeing what goals other people had on Facebook (another rookie error because I’m living my own life not somebody else’s!).

That first year of Powersheets felt hard, not because the planner was hard to use but, because I put SO much pressure on myself to write perfectly and to have perfect goals with perfect steps. Back then I was missing the point that action steps towards goals are meant to be a little messy. I felt that my goals and steps had to be as neat as this perfectly beautiful planner was. Oh how wrong I got things back then!

I continued using Powersheets through 2017 and 2018 but when things got too much, I started to leave months blank, feeling like having goals was too much work. Until I realised that I was filling in every blank line and not allowing myself space. I was getting frustrated at not using my planner and this perpetuated the cycle even more because then I didn’t feel like opening the book let alone using it! I was being tough on myself. I then convinced myself that maybe I had made a mistake buying a goal planner and that maybe I wasn’t the type of successful person to have goals and achieve them. I made not using the planner mean something bad about me when in reality all I needed to do was re-assess my goals and tweak them into small bitesize pieces that would have been more manageable

Fast forward to 2021 and 2022 Powersheets and my approach is completely different. One of my huge goals long-term is to make dedicated space for rest - proper deep soul rest.

My goal isn’t to be perfect at life but to live an authentic peaceful soulful life that builds a powerful legacy that I can leave behind me when I’m gone.

I look at how busy my months and quarters are BEFORE I start planning my goal action steps and I take a step back before dreaming of long-term goals. I understand from a much deeper place now, that I can’t do it all at once and do it all well. I can choose where to put my focus and then get into action by putting 100% of my heart into doing the things that matter. I can change my life by focusing on one priority at a time and focusing well. When one area of life does well it automatically ends up spilling over into all other areas of life and so each area ends up getting better naturally. It’s a domino effect and it only happens by starting super small.

Coming to the end of 2021 I thought I would show you some pictures of my new 2022 powersheets and accessories. Enjoy the pictures and I will be talking more about the 2022 Powersheets and goal planning in general soon.
