I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!

I always have and most likely always will. It has been a season that is forever close to my heart and filled with magic. From the lights in the streets to the decorated trees to the christmas films and music to christmas hot chocolate - everything feels cosy and sparkly.

Plus this year something special is coming up ;) [If you know, you know]

As amazing as Christmas is, it can also bring unexpected emotions and even grief, sadness and pain. When people you love are no longer there to share Christmas with, it can really hurt. We want our loved ones with us always, to be able to share the best memories with.

I’m finding that the key is to take it one day at a time. Some days feel magical and others feel hard and that is completely ok. It's part of the duality of life (more on this in the next blog post so keep an eye out for that). You can feel opposite things at the same time and nothing has gone wrong. You are human!

When the sadness overwhelms me I go to my journal and I vent all my thoughts and feelings out. When the good days arrive I also go to my journal and celebrate the wins and good memories. I find this works for me. You might find listening to music helps you or chatting to friends and family or an outside might help you. Or perhaps exploring completely new hobbies which allow you to focus on learning something new and stop the ruminating on sad thoughts for a short while.

Only you can know what will take your mind off difficult thoughts until you are ready to confront them.

For now I’m off to find an oversized christmas jumper because that to me is one of the many fun things I associate with Christmas (along with the first Harry Potter film for some reason?)

What things are you looking forward to this Christmas? What things are you apprehensive or a little nervous of? DM me to chat and know that you always have a friend ready to listen here.
